FRS Asheville Upgrades Kitchen at Grandfather Golf and Country Club

Grandfather Golf and Country Club’s heritage is based on a vision of wonderful family amenities surrounded by some of the best mountain golf in the world. The FRS Asheville team recently completed a large project for the private club community in Linville, North Carolina, and we were so impressed by the breathtaking location, diverse amenities, and core values rooted in tradition, community and family.

Over the course of several days, FRS Asheville’s crew worked long, busy days to remove the club’s existing chefs table which were replaced with a new custom table by John Boo's. We also provided them with new Hatco heat lamps, Turbo Chef Fire Pizza Oven, True salad prep refrigeration, Univex Dough Divider, Metro Heated cabinet and more. FRS Sales Representative Matt Grant and our warehouse/delivery team did a great job! (before & after pictures below) We would also like to thank Club Manager, Zach Platek, and his staff for working with us and their hospitality to us while on site.

As a local partner for foodservice and restaurant supply in Western North Carolina and Tennessee, you can trust FRS Asheville to deliver quality service and attention to detail. Not located in the Asheville area? FRS is a regional provider in the Carolinas with other locations in South Carolina - Charleston, Columbia and Florence.

Young Hugh MacRae first came upon the Linville River Valley and the rugged peaks of Grandfather Mountain in 1885. He was so inspired by its natural beauty that he immediately wrote his father for financial backing to purchase the land. MacRae paved the way for the area to become a popular summer resort for golf and health.

MacRae’s granddaughter Agnes, “Aggie”, would go onto make development plans in 1964 for a multi-faceted retreat for recreation and rejuvenation. The club offers five dining options which are under the direction of Executive Chef, Will Hicks. Their fine dining restaurant is appropriately named MacRae.
