Carmella's Expands with an Off-site Kitchen

Featured on HGTV and the Cooking Channel, Carmella's Café and Dessert Bar has steadily gained popularity since opening three years ago in downtown Charleston. Owner Brian Solari has a desire to grow the business, and his expansion plan involves an off-site kitchen named Carmella's Kitchen. FRS Sales Representative, Sara Webb, worked closely with Solari as well as William Compton, Operations Manager, and Kaitlin Verrechia, Executive Pastry Chef, on this new construction in West Ashley. The project started in June of 2017 and was completed in December of 2017.

With an additional and larger kitchen (which will not be open to the general public), Carmella's hopes to be able to create more innovative dishes. They would like to grow business within the catering world (weddings, graduation parties, holiday parties, etc.) and even start wholesaling within the community. They also offer rental space for bakers and wedding cake designers.

FRS supplied the following equipment and supplies for this project...

  • 28 ft walk-in cooler/freezer combo by Masterbilt
  • Cambro shelving for the walk-in

  • Blodgett double stack convection oven
